Welcome to Episode 18.

Join us this week as Angel Martin takes the reigns as Dr. Miller is in the UK with his family.

Listen in as Angels talks about the 4th of July and how more pets go missing on this holiday than any other holiday, including New Year's Eve and how with a microchip your pet has a 50% higher chance of returning home.

We'll talk about how important surgical site awareness is and the options we have in the clinic to keep your pet from chewing and messing with any surgical sites such as the traditional E-collar to our own branded GVA onesie!

Angel will touch on the new FDA Study on the potential link between grain-free diets and cardiomyopathy. Diets such as Blue Buffalo, Taste of the Wild, and Acana had upwards of 67 cases and the more commonly reported brands in connection with heart disease. We hope as an industry that this will lead to more open conversation between you and your vet in regards to your pet's diet. We as a practice do recommend Hill's Science Diet and Royal Canine both prescription and management formulas. If you have any questions regarding the new FDA Study or your pet's diet, please contact us today.

We'll talk about common cat myths and why they are just that, myths. Like if indoor cats need to be vaccinated or on a monthly prevention, or the all too common one that pregnant woman should get rid of cats because of the risk of toxoplasmosis, and so much more.

Dr. Miller will also update us all on his vacation in Ireland. He says his goal is to go in a talk to at least one Veterinarian over there! He'll also tell us about some of the spots he and his family have been and where they are going next, as well as a few shout outs from across the pond!
